A wickedly dark comedy and Aussie cult classic in the making, Audrey smashes apart the taboos of not really liking your family, and actually celebrates reveling in their demise! When 18-year-old centre-of-attention and kind-of-awful Audrey falls into a coma, it’s time for everyone else in her family to shine.
Audrey’s mother, Ronnie, a frustrated actor who once had a ‘two-episode arc’ on Neighbours, impersonates her daughter to seek the stardom Audrey’s birth interrupted. Audrey’s father Cormack is sexually reawakened. And younger sister Norah finally gets some attention (including from Audrey’s boyfriend). It's amazing what this family can achieve with their disagreeable golden child out of the way.
Penned by multi-award-winning screenwriter Lou Sanz, the feature debut from director Natalie Bailey is a gleefully sarcastic comedy of (bad) manners and family friction.
